SUMMARY:
When Odd Bars in Manchester reached out for a logo for their new restaurant|bar The Blue Pig the brief was very clear ........ The Blue Pig written in exactly the same style as the 1920s Parisian Metropolitan signs by Hector Guimard. This was a challenge of layout paper, measurements and hand rendered type until both I and the client were happy. The actual silhouette of a life-size gold pig had to be included which was photographed and drawn. The designs for the buildings signage were to be hand painted in gold leaf, finding and working the sign writer, as well as all the menu designs and initial advertising was my job. The menu headings and signage needed to be consistent and I carefully hand rendered almost a complete alphabet of beautiful Art Nouveau letters.
